11 Gingerbread Party Ideas for The Holiday Season
One of the party themes I’ve been absolutely obsessed with is the Gingerbread Party!! I feel like Christmas and winter parties — both birthday parties and regular parties — get limited to the red and green of Christmas, but the Gingerbread party breaks those rules!
You have a lot more freedom with decor, colors, and activities than a regular Christmas party (at least, from my experience). And, while I don’t think I’ll be hosting one this year, I did want to share some of the best Gingerbread Party ideas you could use.
Plus, if we’re going to be honest, this will make it so much easier to plan when I finally do get around to hosting my own party. All my favorite things and themes will be right here, ready for me to use for inspiration, DIYs, and my own ideas!
Here are 11 Gingerbread Party ideas you can use this holiday season:

#1. Gingerbread House Paper Plates

Starting off strong with the essentials of setting up a successful party — the plates. I always love incorporating the theme into the little details, and these Gingerbread House paper plates from Rusty Chic Decor are the perfect starting point!
#2. Gingerbread House Decorating Contest

While not technically a party, my family and I do actually host a small Gingerbread House decorating competition for the kids each year. We’ve done this for the past few years, and I’ll tell you that having a cute little printable like this one from Prim and Popping makes it so much more fun!
#3. Gingerbread Inspired Cake

As someone who has made multiple cakes over the years and still has little experience or skill in cake decorating, even I know this one isn’t as complicated as it could be! A themed cake really becomes the best dessert table centerpiece, and you can keep it small and cute like this one made by Robyn Macgillivray!
#4. Gingerbread House Village

This has to be one of the best ways to decorate for your Gingerbread party. This Gingerbread House Village from Nestling Design is an absolute must!! I think one of the reasons I love this so much is that it’s not as hefty as some houses, making it super easy to store and place where it’s needed.
Note: These are printables!!
#5. Custom Gingerbread House Boxes

If we’re being technical, these are gift boxes, but they would serve as great take-home boxes for everyone’s Gingerbread House! This is a set of 4 from Taras Wonderworld. As someone who has decorated houses before, please don’t forget the take-home boxes, or you’ll be left with upset kids (who didn’t get to take their house home) and a lot of gingerbread.
#6. Gingerbread Man Iced Sugar Cookies

Gingerbread is a very….acquired taste. No one will blame you if you opt for sugar cookies decorated to look like Gingerbread Man cookies like these from Cookie by Mira — personally, I would rather spend the time or money on cookies I know my kids would eat.
#7. Gingerbread Party Cake Topper

If you’ve ever seen any of my parties, then you know I love having a decorative cake topper. Cake toppers are my favorite and will soon be something I create (I’m working on it), but this one from Craft Magic Gifts is cute and can be customized by name and age.
#8. Gingerbread Man Cake Pops

There really aren’t many options when it comes to gingerbread-themed cake pops (maybe we’ll see a few more when I start throwing my party), but these ones by the Partiologist are pretty cute, and she provides the recipe and instructions to make them — so they’re a great option for my party DIYers.
#9. Gingerbread House Dress

What’s a party without the perfect party outfit?? I love this Gingerbread House Dress from Rags to Riches Monogram because it’s so cute but simple. There are so many outfits to pick from, but many were extremely overwhelming, true Gingerbread Man costumes — which isn’t what I was looking for.
#10. DIY Gingerbread House Kit

Once again, speaking from experience, you need to have multiple activities outside candy houses before your party becomes just a candy-eating feast. These DIY Gingerbread House Kits from 7th Era Creations are the perfect solution!! We do something similar for Halloween (paint pumpkins) and Easter (use a marker on eggs).
#11. Gingerbread Balloon Garland

Balloons make a party (and as someone who’s thrown several themed parties, I can say this), even if they’re a literal pain in the butt to do. So, if you can find a balloon garland like this one from Blush Balloon Party, get it!!
And that’s all for today!! I hope you found some party ideas you can use for your Gingerbread Party this holiday season! Don’t forget to like, share, and support all the creators of this awesome decor and crafts!
