Although not as popular as some other holidays when it comes to crafting (looking at you Valentine’s Day and Christmas), St. Patricks Day is a great excuse to get crafty with your toddlers. Honestly, I love crafting with my kids – and the simpler it is, the better. That’s the thought process behind the St. Patricks day crafts for two-year-olds I’ve put together today.
Maybe it’s just me, but I tend to feel clueless when there is no specific holiday or theme for our at-home crafts. You look up some stuff on Pinterest – or try to get creative on your own – and it can become more of a hassle than you wanted. I mean, part of getting my toddlers involved in a craft is to get them to give me a slight break. It’s just an added bonus that it’s a learning experience for them too.
Let’s go ahead and dive into the St. Patricks Day crafts I found for two-year-olds that just make sense:
If you’ve read through our Valentine’s Day crafts, you’ll know that I’m not that creative to come up with my own crafts – I try, and maybe one day I will, but that day is not today. Therefore, you won’t get a full breakdown of the craft and materials as I believe the original creator will do a much better job than I would at explaining.
Instead, I’ll provide a short summary of how messy the craft can be along with how time-consuming and if you may or may not have the supplies at home to do the craft last minute. Plus, I like to share how costly a project might be before you’re dedicated to doing it.
Now it’s officially time to dive into St. Patricks day crafts for two-year-olds we love:
Always a favorite in our home, this Shaving Cream Marbled Shamrocks by Mama Cheaps for St. Patricks Day is a must-try if you have two-year-olds. Really, any age toddler can have fun with shaving cream and a little paint! Do not attempt if you’re not okay with getting a little messy. While most of it can be contained – and remain pretty mess-less – it’s unlikely you’re going to get out free of green paint.

Probably one of the easiest St. Patricks Day crafts to tackle, this St. Patricks Day Thumbprint Craft by A Dab of Glue Will Do only requires paper, paint, and your toddler! You do have quite the chance to get messy with this one – my two-year-old also tends to go AWOL after the paint gets on her hands (she loves to do abstract in the kitchen), but it’s also simple to guide your toddler into learning what and why they’re doing the craft.

Card-stock, glue, and thin orange tissue paper are all you need for these St. Patricks Day Leprechaun Blowers by Kids Craft Room! This one requires a little extra supervision for your two-year-old or toddler as it does require the use of scissors. I appreciate this one because it’s pretty simple and it’s not just another “green” craft – there’s some orange mixed in too!

My toddlers are absolutely in love with anything and everything that involves crafting with your hands. Specifically tracing or painting their hands – which is exactly what this craft does! This Handprint Lucky Gnome Craft by Our Kid Things is one of my favorites on the list and can be played up or kept simple. For example, you can use paint for their hands or keep it basic by tracing it on construction paper. Either way, it’s a craft your two-year-old will love!

Who doesn’t want a holiday craft keepsake with their two-year-old face? Some of my toddler’s favorite crafts involve their own pictures (something about it is just too cool to them) and this St Patrick’s Day Shamrock Craft For Kids by Simple Everyday Mom is no exception. Luckily, you’ll most likely have all the supplies on hand, except for the green pompoms.

Another handprint craft for the win! This is a kinda messy, but very involved Leprechaun Handprint Craft For Kids by Crafty Morning. While it’s not originally directed at toddlers or two-year-olds, you can use a pencil to “trace” the pattern before your toddler paints. Either way you decide to go it’s a great St. Patricks Day craft idea!

Cotton balls, colorful construction paper, and a paper plate – that’s all you’ll need! This simple Paper Plate Rainbow Kids Craft by A Night Owl Blog is a quick project to tackle with your two-year-old. There is some cutting involved, so depending on the skill level of your toddler with scissors, you may need to step in and help out. Otherwise, you can give them a little bit of independence in creating their rainbow.

This a definite you cut and they assemble and glue type of craft for your two-year-old on St. Patricks Day. It’s recommended that you either print and cut or upload a file and cut it on your Cricut (if you have one). I still wanted to include this Mickey Mouse Leprechaun Craft for Kids by Crystal and Comp because my toddlers are absolutely obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse – so this one would be a huge win!
