Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon Review

After three littles and testing multiple strollers and wagons, I wanted to come back and share my thoughts on one of my first wagon purchases – the Radio Flyer 3-in1 Ez Fold Wagon.

I actually purchased this wagon after leaving my Graco Double Stroller out in the rain one too many times during home construction. I didn’t want to invest in another stroller (since my eldest no longer enjoyed riding), and my youngest (at that time) was ready to graduate from her infant car seat.

Looking at the prices for a new double stroller or a collapsible stroller wagon, we opted for the stroller wagon. Since I’ve shared my opinion on some of my favorite 4-seater wagons before, I wanted to share my thoughts in this Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon Review.

The Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon Full Review

Using the Radio Flyer Wagon with Canopy at the Zoo | Everyday She Moms

Recently, I’ve been a big fan of Wonderfold Wagons and Chicco strollers, but the Radio Flyer offers a good starting option for families who aren’t ready to drop $150+ on something their toddlers may or may not use.

For us, what caught our eye with this basic Radio Flyer (because they now offer some pretty cool, not-so-basic models) was the price and the brand. When I was younger, my aunt had an older, plastic model of a Radio Flyer wagon, and it worked extremely well for her girls.

Our final “buying” decision was a mix of pricing, timing, and pure convenience. We wanted to use it soon, and it was on sale at Target for only $99.99, much more budget-friendly than what I found on Amazon.

The overall consensus between my husband and I is that it was a great purchase for the price.

Although the Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Folding Outdoor Collapsible Wagon leaves much to be desired, it also has a lot to offer. Plus, there’s plenty of space, it’s easy to use and fold, and it comes with built-in storage and shade.

What We Loved (and Didn’t) About Our Radio Flyer Wagon

When I asked my husband for his honest opinion about what he liked and disliked about our Radio Flyer wagon, you can imagine what he said: “I liked it.” – honest, straight to the point, but rather unhelpful for this review.

Luckily, after our trip to the zoo, I used my wife’s translating skills to turn his random comments and my overall observations into a few likes and dislikes about our wagon.

  • It had tons of space and plenty of legroom for our lengthy toddler. Being above the 100th percentile for most of his life, our toddler is often a head above his peers – making it hard to find certain toys or products that relate to his age and height. The wagon was perfect in this aspect, considering it doesn’t have a foot drop-out space and the seats are not raised.
  • The safety features were satisfactory; although I’ve seen better, I have also seen worse. I appreciate the clips to keep the kids in place (and safe).
  • It was a smooth ride from what we could tell. Since we can’t actually ride in the wagon, I can’t tell you exactly how it feels – but our daughter (7 months) never tipped over or yanked in a direction when riding around the zoo. Additionally, while the zoo is paved, it has many uneven spots with dips, cracks, and bumps.
  • With the help of a toddler, it only took my husband 10 minutes to put together and pack up our wagon for the zoo. It’s extremely easy to unpack and set up for use!

What Could Use Some Improvement…

I’m technically including my husband in what we didn’t like, but since he didn’t directly express it (except something about the axel and steering could be better), it’s really just what I didn’t like (and still don’t like), about our Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon.

Here’s what I didn’t like:

  • Storage options were small and unexpected. We set up our wagon the same day we first used it, and I didn’t realize that the diaper bag would have to hang so awkwardly. We also had no place to store anything we received during our trip.
  • Although the cup holders are a nice addition, it only worked for their hard plastic cups – and only if they’re normal-sized. We tried to use souvenir cups wherever we went and bring them back on our next trip, but we didn’t have a good place to keep them while moving.
  • I wish I could push the wagon easily. At the time of purchase, I did not realize there were multiple versions of the same wagon. One of the more expensive versions has a handle that can be added to push the wagon instead of pulling it.

Overall, there were no major pitfalls in the quality and design of the wagon. Besides personal preference, unknown options, and minor flaws, there is nothing to complain about.

My Final Thoughts on The Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon

Good quality, good price, husband approved – 10/10 would recommend.

On another note, if you have the spare cash or the space in your budget, I would suggest going for the next model up, the Radio Flyer Convertible Stroller Wagon here. With the extra features, you will be able to use it a little more comfortably and adapt it based on whoever is pulling/pushing.

I do have a few other 2-seater budget-friendly stroller wagons I love, but none are quite like this one.

What do you think? Would you enjoy the Radio Flyer 3-in-1 EZ Fold Wagon? Let me know in the comments below!
