Have you ever wondered how to make the most of the cool breeze, not-so-hot days, and the delicious scent of pumpkin spice, sugared walnuts, and apple pies? Well, look no further! Fall is our favorite season and it’s the time we put the most (and somehow, the least) effort into doing activities as a family!
And since sharing is caring, I’m sharing a quick list of activities you can do too and create your own fun fall family bucket list (or you can download my free printable and follow along with us).

Fall Family Bucket List: 9 Activities to Do This Autumn
Not everything needs to be complicated to have a good time or make memories that will last forever β nor do you need to spend thousands of dollars for a few hours of fun with your family. This list is a combination of places to go, things to do, and activities to try and add to your fall family bucket list this year:
#1. Take a Trip to The Local Farmers’ Market
Fall is full of festivals, and I would bet money that your local farmer’s market will have plenty of things happening over the next few weeks. Our local market does a fall flower festival where vendors showcase their crafts, veggies, pumpkins, and gourds.
Typically, it’s a full weekend event with food trucks, activities to try, and more! And since it’s a farmer’s market, it’s a wide area, offering a lot of space to push a stroller (or take your stroller-wagon) to stock up on all the goodies.
#2. Visit an Apple Orchard

I’m a huge fan of Apple Orchards (we actually just visited Grandad’s Apples not too long ago, 10/10 recommend), and I highly suggest adding it to your fall family bucket list. Orchards offer snacks, desserts, activities, and games, and typically some farm-exclusive things β like a cow train pulled by a tractor.
#3. DIY Fall Wreath Made of Leaves
I’m a sucker for fall home decor, and doing a DIY with your littles is probably one of my favorite activities. This is pretty simple (ish), but I recommend following this tutorial; it lets the leaves stack instead of laying flat, which is much easier to manage when you have little hands helping.
#4. Play in The Leaves

It can be a little messy, but it’s one of those easy activities to accomplish if you have a few trees that will soon be shedding their leaves. This entertained my littles for an entire afternoon and is one of those things we love to do on repeat!
I recommend bug spray and tick prevention (I hate even having to type it, but I live in the South, and it’s kind of a must).
#5. Order a Seasonal Drink (or Treat)
The easiest activity to check off your fall family bucket list β ordering and enjoying a seasonal drink or treat! Think pumpkin spice lattes, apple cookies, or even a slice of pecan pie! It doesn’t need to be anything specific, just something that you can typically only order during the fall and enjoy it as a family to create those memorable associations.
#6. Go Trick-or-Treating (or Trunk-or-Treating)

It’s up to you what you want to do (and what you feel comfortable with), but add trick-or-treating to your fall bucket list if you want to have a classical touch.
We actually do trunk-or-treating at a local church because of when they do it (early and in the daylight) and all the extra activities they offer for our toddlers.
#7. Drive-In Movie
I’m a sucker for a good drive-in movie, it was one of my husband and I’s first dates (he ordered pizza and cheese sticks for our dinner and shaped them into a heart). We’ve been waiting for our kids to get old enough to enjoy and stay awake during the movie, and this year is finally the year.
#8. Take a Trip to The Pumpkin Patch

This has been a yearly tradition for my family; we all take a trip to the local pumpkin patch and spend the day playing in their multiple play areas for kids (they have three and two corn mazes, a smaller one and a bigger, giant one).
I love this because our littles get to have hands-on experience picking their pumpkin and then coming home and painting them (we’re not quite at carving yet).
#9. Bake a Pie
Most pies are hard to mess up, especially if you’re buying the pie crust pre-made. That’s why I love to recommend adding it to your fall bucket list. They taste delicious and kids can easily help with the preparation and baking!
Why You Should Create a Fall Family Bucket List
The bucket list is actually a new thing for us; we’ve always participated in and done the activities, but we never really tracked them. The bucket list allowed us to create something our kids could see, comprehend, and even get excited about!
Depending on the weekend (and what you’ve already checked off the list), you can even let your kids pick the next activity to do. It’s really just one more way to enjoy time as a family and embrace the season!
